Saint Joseph Church's Cemetery, which is located at 137-151 Route 206, was erected on December 02, 1906. The cemetery consists of 4.2 acres of land and is nearly one hundred percent full of all in ground graves.
An agreement to build the Mausoleum was signed on the 10th day of October, 1994 and construction started on a few months after (for $393,511.00) with the McCleskey Construction Company located in Norcross, Georgia with Father Edward M. Davey, as the pastor of Saint Joseph Church at that time.
As per the contract, there were five hundred and eighteen (518) crypts which included two hundred and ten (210) single crypts, three hundred and eight (308) side by side (or true companion) crypt spaces and one hundred (100) niche spaces, for the entombment of caskets and/or urns containing cremated remains.
To date, the masoleum is about sixty-five percent (65%) full.
If you are interested in purchasing one of the very few in ground graves, niche or crypt, please contact the Parish Center Office as soon as possible, as these limited spaces go very quickly (973.383.1985).
The cemetery includes two (2) civil war headstones with the names: Martin Hughes (April 9, 1919) and Michael Mohair (1847-1917).
