Because Jesus said to His Disciples: "When I was naked you clothed me" (Matthew 25:36) we take this divine mandate very seriously here at Saint Joseph Church.
Therefore, very soon our Thrift Shop will move across the street to the former school annex (the white building to the left of the Community Center) which will continue to be open to all people. The hours of operation are Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00am-4:00pm and on Saturdays from 9:30am-12:30pm.
The Thrift Shop will be renamed the "Father Michael J. Burke Thrift Shop" in loving memory of Father Burke who regularly celebrated the 5:00pm Mass each Sunday evening and becamse an integral part of our parish family with his unique and enchanting ways.
Our Thrift Shop we continue to make available to the public those items which are donated by our parishioners and local residents. We offer shirts, pants, suits, dresses, skirts, jackets, blouses, shoes, belts, and handbags for all ages (infants to large adults) for both men and women. We also offer dishes, glassware, puzzles, books, trinkets and anything else that collects dust in your homes. All these items are sold at an exceptionally reasonable price that suits anyone's budget. If for some reason there is a need for any piece of clothing and the person or family cannot afford it, they can speak directly with Father ST in order to get what they need.
Finally, if you have any of these items listed above (unfortunately we do not accept electronic devices such as televisions, VCR's, radios, record players, etc or large furniture items) they may be dropped off on Thursday or Friday between 10:00am-4:00pm. The Thrift Shop entrance is on the right side of the church beneath the church steps. We ask that you PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS AT THE DOOR OF THE THRIFT SHOP, CHURCH OR PARISH CENTER!
If you have any questions, please call the Parish Office at: 973.383.1985 or Carol Strand at: 973.383.6816.
